Year 11 Mass

On Tuesday 19 March, the Feast of St Joseph, Year 11 gathered in the Chapel for Mass, the theme of which was friendship.  The students spoke movingly of how they feel affirmed by one another and how they are looking forward to staying in touch with each other in the years which lie ahead.

In the scripture reading, St Paul reminded all who were gathered that we should reach out to each other in “compassion, humility, gentleness and patience, forgive each other and always be thankful” (Col 3: 12-17). That is the challenge which we must embrace today.  In the Gospel, St John reminded us that we are called “to love one another” and experience tells us that this is not always easy.

It was a joyful celebration and the students appreciated how much friendship means and the importance of being there for one another.  For good friends are like stars, you don’t always see them but you know they are there.
