Year 7 Trip to France

Year 7 students enjoyed a trip to France last weekend. Highlights included biscuits, marshmallows, waffles, ice creams – and snails! – as Oksana explains below (en française of course).

Le weekend passé, les filles de Year 7 sont allées en France au Touquet et au Château du Broutel. En premier lieu, on s’est arrêtées pour voir comment ils faisaient les biscuits français. On a appris que « bis cuit » ça voulait dire « cuit deux fois ». Après on est retournées dans le bus à deux étages et on est allées voir une ferme d’escargots. On a appris que les escargots étaient des mollusques et qu’ils étaient de la même famille que les limaces, les moules, les huîtres et les coquilles St Jacques. On a goûté des escargots et on les a aussi pris dans nos mains. Quand on était au Château du Broutel on n’a pas attendu trop longtemps pour toutes se mettre autour du feu. On a joué à des jeux et on a dansé puis on a fait griller des guimauves. Ensuite, on a passé une bonne nuit de sommeil dans nos chambres à l’Écurie.

Le matin on s’est réveillées et on est allées dans un marché français puis on est montées au Beffroi et on a appris qu’il y avait deux villes : la nouvelle ville et l’ancienne. Après le déjeuner, on a joué à « Un, Deux, Trois Soleil » avec Madame Maillot. On est retournées au Touquet pour aller sur la plage et faire un peu plus de shopping. On a pris une gaufre et une glace et on a fait un tour de manège. Puis, il était temps de repartir avec le bus. On a chanté dans le bus et on a dit « Au Revoir » à la France et « À la prochaine fois ! ».
