Full marks for Fleur in Chemistry Society’s quiz to celebrate British Science Week

24 March 2021

Abi and Anthea, Lower Sixth, Co-chairs of Woldingham’s Chemistry Society

To celebrate British Science Week, 5-14 March, members of the Chemistry Society (pictured) devised and ran an inter-House science quiz to test students and staff across the school. The quiz consists of three parts: anagrams, multiple choice questions and a word search puzzle where the names of 11 scientists, both world famous ones and “Woldingham famous” members of the Science Department, were hidden.

We were delighted by the interest the quiz generated, with students in all year groups taking part to win merits for their House. Huge congratulations to Stuart House’s Fleur, in Year 10, who was the only student to get full marks – no mean feat in our 39-question challenge. Well done too to Teacher of Physics, Mrs Clayton, who was the highest scoring member of staff.
