Last night’s concert was a lovely way to finish the first half of term. Director of Music, John Hargreaves, welcomed everyone and introduced a programme put together by Katie Wong, who also provided beautiful piano accompaniment to many of the performers. Each half of the programme took us on a journey through music history, firstly from Bach to Bernstein and, after the interval, Vivaldi to Schönberg.
It was a pleasure to listen to talented musicians, ranging in age from 11 to 18, and a wide range of instruments, including flute, clarinet, cello, piano, voice and tenor horn (a new instrument to some, which led to an interval guessing game, won by Mrs Hutchinson). Well done to everyone involved, particularly our new Year 7 and Year 9 scholars, performing with great assurance at their first Woldingham concert. We look forward to more musical delights at next month’s Autumn Concert.
