Sport is an important part of life at Woldingham and is about enjoyment, opportunities, success and celebration.

Girls have the chance to perform and participate in a number of different ways: creatively at Dance or Gym Club, competitively as an individual or in a team, co-operatively in challenging curriculum tasks, or quite simply through enjoying their own fitness and health in an active and personalised programme. Our philosophy is about personal improvement whatever the starting point and we hope that by the time girls leave us they take with them a lifelong commitment to sport and healthy living.

In the autumn and spring terms, our major sports are netball and hockey, while in the summer the girls play rounders, tennis and athletics. In addition, girls compete in sports such as swimming and cross country, and have achieved notable successes in skiing and fencing.

Alongside our staff and external coaches, who have excellent teaching credentials, our impressive sports centre includes a sports hall, two squash courts, fitness studio and a dance/gymnastics studio. We have extensive outdoor courts and pitches, an indoor tennis dome, an indoor swimming pool and an all-weather pitch.

We have a busy week-day and Saturday fixture list, as well as participation in  District and County tournaments. The squads and school teams emerge from the regular training sessions where attendance and commitment are vital for those wishing to represent the school. There are further opportunities for sporting competition in the Inter-House matches, which are held regularly throughout the year.
