On 27 January the Year 8 hockey squad set off for a tour in Chester. Despite a long coach journey their first match against Upton-by-Chester was a winner, scoring 5-1. The girls were up the following morning to play against Queen’s Chester, which proved a challenging match and drew 1-1. Chester Zoo provided a well-earned afternoon rest, followed with a meal and a trip to the bowling alley.
The last day of the tour provided a great experience for the squad. They unfortunately lost the match against Chester Hockey Club, but by combining Woldingham teams with Chester’s were able to learn much and came away from the tour feeling their technique had considerably improved.
