The School and parents were treated to a glittering evening of song and dance on 20 January, when students and staff presented ‘Face the Music’ in the School's Dineen Auditorium.
A sparkling night sky provided a fitting backdrop for the impressive Company which performed songs and excerpts from Broadway and West End shows. From ‘Annie’ and ‘The Sound of Music’ to ‘Les Miserables’ and ‘Cabaret’, the variety and talent among the girls was stunning. A fabulous band line-up comprising staff, visiting musicians and students, ably directed from the drums by John Hargreaves (Director of Music), seamlessly provided accompaniment to the performers.
It would be hard to single out any performers or acts, but special mention should go to Maisie Breen, Florence Budge, the ‘Little Shop of Horrors’ song, and Emma Corrin’s and Katie Maule’s moving rendition of ‘God on High’ which received a standing ovation. Kirsty Downing gave a very polished performance of ‘I’m Gonna Wash That Man’ and the Drama Department’s very own Lyn Mann, Phil Young and Lucy Tullett provided a suitably humorous interpretation of ‘Easy Street’.
