CAROLS FROM WESTMINSTER

Print

Monday, 12 Dec 2011

For the first time and with meticulous planning, Woldingham de-camped this year for its Christmas Carol Service, to Westminster Cathedral.

Parents, families and Woldingham’s alumnae (WSHA)  practically filled the cathedral and the resulting joint service was tremendous. The atmosphere was very special in this magnificent setting, with the congregation joining in their favourite traditional carols. The Junior and Senior Amaris sang Bob Chilcott’s The Lily and the Rose and Ronald Corp’s beautiful arrangement of Away in a Manger, from the choir stalls behind the altar – the sound was angelic. The Chairs of WSHA and Governors, the Headmistress and a member of Marden, Main House and Sixth Form each did a reading.
