Year 9 Housemistress, Christine Halpin, recently entered the Oldie Composers song writing competition, and was delighted to be placed in the final 50. The nationwide competition was set up to raise funds for the children’s charity Barnardo’s and Christine’s song, ‘Just a Little Bit More’ reached the final 21 this week in the public vote. These 21 songs are now to be judged by a panel of celebrity judges - among them, Sir Terry Wogan, Ken Bruce and Johnnie Walker - who will choose four to be recorded by professional musicians. These will then be available to vote for through public downloads, with any proceeds going to Barnardo's. We wish Mrs Halpin luck in the final leg of the contest.
