Students considering careers in architecture, engineering and surveying visit site of new Sixth Form Centre and Library

11 December 2023

Mr Rob Philbin, Careers Advisor

On Friday 8 December, students taking part in our new Architecture and Construction Careers Programme visited the construction site of Woldingham’s Sixth Form Centre and Library, which is due to open in autumn 2024. The students were given a talk by one of the site managers from Sunninghill, Woldingham’s construction partner, and discussed many aspects of the building process, including interior design, energy efficiency, and renewables, as well as the stages of concrete pouring and weather dependency – all useful for students considering a career in property and construction.

Many Woldingham students are interested in pursuing careers related to architecture, engineering and surveying and the new Sixth Form Centre project is a fantastic opportunity for them to learn more about all aspects of building design and construction. The Woldingham Architecture and Construction Careers Programme will continue throughout 2024, with further site visits accompanied by talks from Sunninghill architects, surveyors and engineers.
