Life at Woldingham is home from home and weekends are eventful and varied.
Saturday Active is an exciting programme for girls in Years 7 to 10 who are not involved in Saturday morning sports fixtures. All boarders take part and day girls are very welcome to join us too.
Recent activities on offer have included: Fun Art, Artistic Roller Skating, Yoga, Cake decorating, Interior Design, Cookery, Basketball and Mountain Biking.
The programme is regularly reviewed and suggestions from the girls enable us to select fun activities that broaden their experiences.
For Years 8 to 11, school ends at 12 noon on Saturday and girls are free to return on Sunday nights or Monday mornings. Many girls from each year group remain at school and enjoy the wide range of week-end activities on offer.
Trips take place on Saturday afternoons, with a carefully balanced programme of cultural and fun activities. Past examples include trips to the London Eye, ice skating at the Natural History Museum, go-karting and shopping. Sometimes, joint activities with other schools, such as paintballing with Worth School are arranged, while the older girls can organise to visit the local towns. Socials with boys’ schools take place on Saturday nights. Following Mass on Sunday morning, activities within school are arranged on Sunday afternoons. These range from badminton to cookery, and from jewellery making to swimming.
Weekends are also used for concert and production rehearsals. These are named ‘closed weekends’ and the girls involved are expected to be in school on these days.
