Our trip was definitely fun (especially when we made Miss Tomlinson eat a toxic waste)!
When we arrived we went in the Princess of Wales’s Conservatory, in here were different climates of varying ecosystems. As we went around we felt the blazing heat of the desert and the humidity of the rainforest with its lush plants. It was very interesting comparing the two as they were completely different.
After that, we took a tour of Europe’s largest indoor rainforest. It was fascinating learning about how many things are in the rainforest. Our tour guide gave us things to smell such as cocoa beans and soaps, and then she pointed out the plants that grew them. We got to spray water on a certain leaves and we saw how it dripped off.
Then we had lunch. There was a great surprise as it was Lucie’s birthday her mum had turned up with a fantastic home made chocolate tray bake.
We then had our maths challenge and we learnt how to use a compass accurately. We recorded and worked out the degrees between different places.
At the very end we walked over the tree tops and saw just how high up the trees reach. It was really weird seeing all the people beneath us and they looked just like tiny ants!
Overall this was a fantastic day and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. We would like to thank all the members of staff who came with us and helped us on our trip.
