Woldingham staff entered two teams for the London Duathlon this year.  It's a team relay event, with a 10k run (Mrs Barnes and Mr Smith), a 20k cyle (Mr Brown and Mr Rae) and a 5k run (Miss May and Miss Tomlinson.

The day was very sunny and warm and Richmond Park was buzzing with people competing and supporting.  First off were the 10k runners, who came into transition within a few minutes of each other.

They then handed over to the bike riders, who, after swapping race numbers and timing chips had two laps of the park to enjoy.....including two climbs of a very steep hill.  Then it was back to transition (and a long run with very wobbly legs) to hand over to the final runner.

Both teams did well, with Woldingham1 finishing in 1:58:28 (71st out of 177 teams) and Woldingham 2 in 2:13:14 (127th).  the winning team time was 1:30:16.  The school's name was even mentioned over the tannoy as we ran across the finishing line.

Miss May's target was for the team to beat two hours this year, so what will the target be for next year?.....better start training now, duathletes!
