To celebrate British Food Fortnight, Matt Owens, School and College Liaison Officer for the Craft Guild of Chefs and employee of Zuidam UK and Bob Brown, Senior Lecturer at Westminster College came to Woldingham School to demonstrate the art of cookery.
British Food Fortnight is a government initiate that aims to make the public – and in particular children – aware of the diverse and delicious food and drink that Britain produces and the many food experiences available. The idea is to increase awareness of the health increase awareness of the health benefits – and pleasures - of eating quality, fresh, seasonal and regional produce generate real enthusiasm & interest necessary to nurture a renaissance in the pleasures of preparing and eating regional food and drink.
Matt and Bob demonstrated one savoury item and one sweet item on two consecutive Tuesdays at the end of September and beginning of October. The girls all had great fun and guess which was the most popular dish!
