Woldingham Politics Society will be delighted to welcome Daniel Hannan MEP to give a talk and lead a discussion on the European Union on Thursday 4th October. New Headmistress appointed for September 2007

Mrs Jayne Triffitt joins Woldingham in September 2007
|
Woldingham is delighted to announce the appointment of Mrs Jayne Triffitt to succeed Miss Diana Vernon as Headmistress of Woldingham School from September 2007. Originally from Cornwall, Jayne Triffitt has been the successful Headmistress at St Mary?s, Cambridge since 2001. Prior to this she was Head of Sixth Form at St Mary?s Ascot. She brings to the post a wealth of experience gained in a wide variety of Catholic schools, by the time she joins Woldingham she will have been in education for 26 years, 17 of which was spent in the maintained sector.

Creative Writing Workshop

Calling all aspiring writers to a Talented Writers' Workshop to be held on Wednesday 27th June in the Goddard Room starting at 9.40am. The Workshop will be led by Eleanor Updale author of Montmorency, Winner of the Blue Peter award for The Book I Couldn?t Put Down. After the workshop Eleanor will be signing copies of her books in the Marden Library from 12.40pm.

Woldingham hosts Lecture on Post-Re-unification Germany

Woldingham's German Department is hosting a lecture evening on 2 May. We have invited Karl Pfeiffer from the Goethe Institute who will talk to us about Post-Re-unification Germany. The talk will be followed by a workshop and then a buffet supper for all participants. We have invited a number of other schools to bring their Sixth form German students to what promises to be an interesting and enlightening event. More information will be provided nearer to the time.

Fashion Show

Following the success of our previous foray into the world of high fashion in 2004 Woldingham is to host a further Charity Fashion show on 19th January 2007. Details of how to apply for tickets for Uganda Passion Woldingham Fashion, has been sent out to parents in the end of term mailing. We expect high demand for this exciting evening of Fashion, Music and Dance which is held in aid of the Kyamusansala School in Uganda. Tickets will be in short supply and allocated on a first come first served basis so please book early to avoid disappointment.

The first Joint Carol Concert WSHA Choir & Woldingham School Senior Choir is due to take place on Tuesday 5 December 2006 7.00 pm at Our Most Holy Redeemer & St Thomas More, Cheyne Row, London SW3. A wonderful opportunity for Woldingham Girls Past and Present to join together at this festive time.
