Woldingham is delighted to announce the appointment of Mrs Jayne Triffitt to succeed Miss Diana Vernon as Headmistress of Woldingham School from September 2007. Originally from Cornwall, Jayne Triffitt has been the successful Headmistress at St Mary?s, Cambridge since 2001. Prior to this she was Head of Sixth Form at St Mary?s Ascot. She brings to the post a wealth of experience gained in a wide variety of Catholic schools, by the time she joins Woldingham she will have been in education for 26 years, 17 of which was spent in the maintained sector. Jayne, a graduate of St Hilda?s College, Oxford, she is married to historian, former documentaries director and producer with the BBC, John Triffitt. He is now Head of History at The Leys School in Cambridge. They are both committed Catholics and have two children, Tom, aged 13, and Susannah, aged 9. The ?Good Schools Guide? describes Jayne as ?bright, pragmatic, with a twinkle in her eye and a memory like a computer?. We look forward to welcoming her and her family to Woldingham.
