The Roll Royce owners club provided a stunning static display of examples of what has often referred to as the ‘Best Car in the World’. For the drivers and their passengers there were, champagne picnics, trade displays of the latest Rolls-Royce and Bentley motorcars, a jazz band and the all important judging.
Woldingham's Registrar Mrs Pat Davies was joined by a team of our girls to judge the Most Elegant Car and the prestigious Best in Show award.
The Best in Show award went to Mr Price with his impressive 1927 Rolls Royce 20hp Tourer. We were later to discover Mr Price and his car are Woldingham residents. We were delighted when Alderman and Sheriff John Stuttard agreed to bring his own vintage Rolls Royce along and to present the prizes.
The day also coincided with the Old Girls Day reunion which meant that the returning Woldingham Old Girls were also able to enjoy the event with their families.
