Audi Design Awards Success for Hannah Stevens Year 7
Hannah receives her award and is one of the youngest entrants and becomes the highest placed girl in the South East

Hannah Stevens was the Runner Up in the Semi final of the Audi Innovation Awards out of 4,000 entrants. Hannah, who was one of the youngest competitors in the 11 to 14 year group, has been working hard on her project which was to develop the idea of a robotic pool cleaner into one which could be put to a practical household use as a shower cleaner. Her ingeniously designed starfish shaped cleaner caught the judges imagination as they could see the practical application for this labour saving device. Huge congratulations to Hannah all your hard work paid off
Schools are invited each year to enter the 2006 Audi Innovation Awards, a nationwide competition which offers valuable teaching support for design and technology, as well as a chance to win great prizes. Woldingham has a particularly strong track record in Design Technology and we are extremely proud of our Design Technology Departments achievements. Our girls have qualified for the Audi Awards National Semi Finals for the last 3 years and in 2005 Jennifer Andrews went through to the national finals of Young Designer of the Year.
The Audi Design Foundation has again this year commissioned a panel of teachers from England, Wales and Scotland to devise six challenges for students to overcome. The challenges have been specifically devised to support Key Stage 3 and to cover a range of abilities and skills.
The judging panel consists of some of the leading figures in 21st Century Design.
