10 Year 6 girls completed their Animal Welfare (Equine) course as part of their service section of the Bronze DoE Award with an interesting visit to the barracks of the Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery based in St John's Wood. They were able to see at first hand the evening feed being given following the relevant trumpet call and then the teamwork necessary to ensure that all the horses lines are clean and ready for inspection in under an hour. They were able to view at close hand the guns that the horses pull, including the one used at Diana Princes of Wales' funeral and speak to members of the troop.
