London 2012 Chief Executive Keith Mills presents “London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games Inspiring the Youth of the World”
We are delighted to announce a visit to Woldingham on Wednesday 18th January 06 by Keith Mills, a parent of one of our 6th formers and the Chief Executive of the winning bid team for the London 2012 Olympics. Mr Mills will visit the school and give a talk to the girls in Year 11 and above from 6.45.
Any parents wishing to attend what promises to be an interesting and informative talk are most welcome.
After 6 July, when the International Olympic Committee President Jacques Rogge announced that London had been awarded the honour of hosting the 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, Keith Mills and Chairman of the bid, Lord Sebastian Coe were described as “one of British sport's great double acts”.
Founder of both the Air Miles and Nectar customer loyalty programmes, Mr Mills says of his London 2012 Chief Executive role: "It's my job to make it happen." It sounds easy when you put it like that, but we all know that the task ahead is anything but easy and we really appreciate Mr Mills taking time out from his busy schedule to be with us at Woldingham.
Prior to founding the Air Miles business in the 1980s, Mr Mills, a father-of-two, had more than 20 years experience in marketing and advertising. A keen amateur sailor, he was also one of the crew that won the Clipper Round the World Yacht Race in 1999. He recently formed AT Racing Ltd to enable Alex Thomson to compete in the Vendee Globe challenge in 2004. He has also recently been named Business Leader of the Year in the London Business Awards 2005.
